Simply Inspired New Product Showcase

Welcome to our Simply Inspired CTMH Blog Hop! This month we are celebrating the kick off of  Close to My Heart's newest annual Inspirations book that launches on August 1st and is full of tons of goodness, fabulous artwork and great products.
If you have come here from Michelle's Blog then you are on the right path. The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultants here.

The blog hop is so easy to follow and hop along with us--just by clicking on the link at the end of each blog post to move to the next one!

The project I am sharing is something I created for my Product Showcase presentation that I did at our annual Close to My Heart convention this past June. I was so excited when I opened my box of goodies that I was sent to create with and found this beautiful Designed Decor Red Magnetic Chalk Board! I knew right away that I wanted to create a Menu board and looked to Pinterest to find my inspiration.
I designed my board to be weekly because I knew that I just couldn't be organized to plan out farther then that for our family meals and I like to change my mind and didn't want too many meals planned.

I took a little time and compiled all my families favorite recipes and some new ones and copied them all into a binder for easy look-up. Then I typed up the meal menu on one side and a simple ingredient shopping list on the other to help make my weekly shopping list easy to fill out. Don't worry that I will be expected to cook 7 days a week because I have a few cards with the option of "Dinner Out" or "Leftovers."
I created some paper Yo Yo's using the Close to My Heart Artiste Cricut Cartridge, glued magnets onto the back of our Ruby Mini-Medly Clothespins, and decorated my board with Snowhaven Embellishments and ribbon. I even included a little Post-It note stack with a small Binder clip to jot down any last minute grocery items or notes.

Snowhaven projects from my Product showcase at Convention

I know this post is long overdue for some of you, but I promise I was using my time this month to create tons of other artwork with the new CTMH paper kits. I will be showing much of that artwork over the coming months. I think I have spent even more time creating my "fancy" cutting guides and instruction sheets and am so excited to now offer this extra component to my workshop options.

I was so honored to be asked to teach a special kind of class at the Close to My Heart convention this year. I must admit that while I was excited I was also very nervous to present in front of all 1,000+ convention attendees. In the past I have been asked to present during the fast paced, and fancy artwork Extravaganza.

This year Jill asked if I would be willing to be one of four presenters that would present on the big stage during the Extravaganza time to half of the group while the other group was attending Extravaganza. Here is a photo of the four of us and I had the best time presenting with these talented ladies: Brenda Rose, Lisa Stenz, and Pamela O'Connor.

Instead of creating tons of artwork showcasing lots of fun and unique techniques, the four of us were asked to present a workshop based on the paper packet we were assigned and have cost and details on how we would conduct the workshop. We were also able to create some other items with our products and could include a few "wow" type projects. Stay tuned for my post later tonight in the Simply Inspired Blog Hop that shows my fun Menu Board using the new Red Chalkboard frame!

For my workshop, I decided to mainly present the Journaling Box and Die cut card set and designed a workshop that uses 1/2 a Snowhaven paper pack, and some embellishments. I also designed a custom cutting guide so anyone could recreate the cards and then present the same workshop to their customers. I plan to pre-cut all the papers and have them ready for my workshop date but will also send each of my workshop attendees home with my custom made guides and instructions. So they can re-create the projects with the other 1/2 of their kit or with another color scheme. I can also email the instructions to any long distance customers who wish to participate and create on their own time.

Another fun addition to my workshop presentation was creating the same card kit with all the same paper cuts but flipping some patterns and using a non-seasonal stamp set called Funky Blossoms. Isn't this card cute? I don't think you can even tell that I used a Snowy/Wintery paper pack. I love that you can switch things up and yet keep the directions simple.

One addition to my workshops now is a custom cutting guide I created with all the cuts pictured and the paper color or pattern also pictured. I spent a lot of time through trial and error figuring out how to accurately create them and while they still take a lot of time, I believe that I have cut my time down by at least half {hopefully I can continue to get even faster}. I also created step by step written instructions, shopping guide, and cover sheet for my workshop attendees and other consultants. Pretty cool huh?

While I was creating with the Snowhaven paper pack I decided to also create an adorable Star Tag Mini-Album using one of the tags in our Art Philsophy Cricut Cartridge. I loved how it turned out and I can now say that I have finally created a Star Album. I can't wait to put my photos in and then place it out on my mantel during the holidays.

If you love these projects and want to create your own you have three options:

Option One:
If you are one of my customers and want to create these projects just stay tuned for my Snowhaven workshop details that I will post later this month or early in Septmeber.

Option Two:
If you are a Close to My Heart consultant who is on my "Rockin' with Paper and Scissors" team then you will have access to all of my workshop info and guides completely FREE as a special perk for being on my team! I will have the guides posted on our team Facebook group, and can email any of you the guides anytime. Then you can order your own supplies and create some samples and get ready to teach the class to all of your customers. This is a great way to up your sales, gain more customers, and create some fun pieces of artwork.

If you are not on my team but interested in learning more about Close to My Heart and the fabulous products and opportunities we have then you can visit my website or email me to learn more.

Option Three:
If you are a Close to My Heart consultant or just someone who found my blog through Pinterest or online and would like my handouts and guides for these two projects so you can create your own.

Please visit my website and just place a $15 minimum order {before tax and shipping}, then email me at and let me know which guide you would like: Snowhaven Cards and Box OR Snowhaven Star Tag Album. I will then send the PDF guides/handouts via email within 24 hours.

Be sure to visit my blog in the next few weeks to see my Snowhaven Layouts and a few other projects I created for my Product Showcase presentation. I will also be posting my other scrapbook layouts that I have created using many of the NEW paper kits that are introduced in the new Close to My Heart annual Inspirations Book that goes live August 1st!

Free to Be Me Workshop

Many of you purchased the Close to My Heart exclusive paper kit in May for the National Scrapbooking month promotion. I also know that most of you have your paper kit still sitting in your scrap area or even still in the bag and I want to help you change that.
I have created three 12" x 12" scrapbook layouts {6 pages} and six cards that you can make with your kit and am offering a night you can come and get those projects done. I have even made a professional custom guide, assembly instructions, and a tips and techniques handout that you will receive via email just for purchasing the kit with me in May.
Now if you did not purchase the Free to Be Me kit in May don’t worry I have a limited number of kits still available and will also include the custom cutting guide and handouts.

You can either attend my evening class and invest in some dedicated time to create your projects or you can opt to create them on your own time and your own space. It's a win-win! Here are the details:

Skylark Scrap Kit of the Month

Layout #1
Layout #2
Layout #3

This month's scrapbook kit of the month features the beautiful colors and patterns from the Skylark paper and embellishments.

I liked the special Skylark stamp set that was included in the Workshop on the Go but really wanted to get a chance to use the Honeycomb stamp set. So I decided to substitute the workshop Sklylark stamp set with the Honeycomb set. I love how easy it is to use this set now that it coordinates with our Artbooking Cricut cartridge. Just use your cricut to cut some honeycombs then use the stamp set to add some color and interesting patterns.

The Basic kit includes:

Total: $26.33 {plus tax and shipping}

The Deluxe kit includes everything in the Basic PLUS:
Total: $50.05 {savings of $5.08}

If you do not purchase the Deluxe kit then some additional items you may want to order are:

Please contact me to place your kit order and you can either put your Skylark together on your own, or attend one of my 5 Scrap kit of the month classes in August.

If interested please contact me at and we'll see which class might work in your schedule, or if you are long distance we can order you a kit and I'll email you the cutting guide so you can create them on your own.
